America Needs Fatima Looking for Volunteers to Organize 3,000 Rosary Rallies

For Immediate Release
Contact: Francis Slobodnik, America Needs Fatima
Phone: 866-584-6012

Hanover, Penn., June 20, 2008 – America Needs Fatima is organizing 3,000 rosary rallies across America. The event is set for 12 noon on October 11, the Saturday closest to October 13, when the Miracle of the Sun occurred at Fatima, Portugal, in 1917.

“As homosexual ‘marriage,’ abortion and other moral evils spread, Catholics are planning this spiritual counter-attack: 3,000 rosary rallies for America,” said Robert Ritchie, executive director of America Needs Fatima. “To prepare for these peaceful prayer rallies, we are looking for volunteer rally captains to organize friends and other members of their communities.”

America Needs Fatima will provide support materials and special prayer banners for at least 3,000 different rallies.

“We could never plan 3,000 rallies without the help of 120 dedicated volunteers who have pledged time to work the phones at our national coordination office in Kansas. Last year we made and took about 35,000 calls,” said Robert Ritchie.

To volunteer, go to the Catholic group’s web site www.americaneedsfatima.org to sign up or view a selection of online material to start a rally, such as posters, banners, rosaries, and a detailed map of the nation announcing rally locations by state and city. Volunteers can also call 866-584-6012 to join the campaign.

“An amazing network is forming to honor the Mother of God and pray for the conversion of America,” said Mr. Ritchie. “Only God can help us stop abortion, pornography, blasphemy and sins against nature that are so widespread,” he said. “If anything can stop the moral crisis in society, it’s the power of the Rosary. There’s nothing more powerful spiritually.”

Last year, America Needs Fatima, with 140,000 members nationwide, organized 2,173 rosary rallies to honor the 90th anniversary of the apparitions apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima.

Traditional Marriage Ads Received with Cheers and Jeers

Catholics Resist Mockery of True Marriage

HANOVER, Penn., June 12 /Christian Newswire/ -- The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) is receiving mixed reactions after publishing large ads opposing same-sex "marriage." The statement titled Battling for America’s Soul: How Homosexual "Marriage" Threatens Our Nation and Faith—TFP Urges Lawful and Conscientious Resistance, appeared as a two-page ad simultaneously in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and The Washington Times on June 5.

"A wave of phone calls and emails are pouring in," said TFP director Preston Noell. "What I find most shocking is the impolite and even vitriolic tone contained in the replies advocating same-sex 'marriage.' Our group has been called just about every ugly name for publishing a calm and reasoned defense of traditional marriage," he said.

"But the number of positive responses is great. It's clear to me that Christian America is ready to peacefully reject and resist the imposition of homosexual "marriage," he added.

What is "America Needs Fatima"

America Needs Fatima's goal is to win the heart and soul of America for Mary by spreading Our Lady's Fatima message and promoting devotion to Her Immaculate Heart. America urgently needs the prophetic messages of Our Lady at Fatima. Above all, America needs a clear direction, a great purpose, and the means to achieve it. The admonitions, requests, and warnings of Mary Most Holy can rightly be called a heaven-sent survival manual.

The essence of Our Lady's message is to open our eyes to the gravity of today's moral corruption, to explain it in light of God's plans, and to outline how to prevent the chastisement. Our Lady is thus teaching us about our epoch and our future.

To fulfill this desire in spreading our Lady's message, America Needs Fatima (ANF) has organized pro-life rallies, anti-blasphemy protests, the distribution of millions of fliers nationwide, a home visitation program enthroning statues of Our Lady of Fatima, and the promotion of books and devotional items. All seek to draw people closer to God and His Blessed Mother.

Instant-Impact flyers such as this one have changed the lives of thousands.

Fliers:
So far, millions of these instant-impact fliers have been distributed. The name fittingly describes the arresting effect they have over the people who receive them. With an eye-catching picture of Our Lady of Fatima, the flier's simple invitation is clear: "Look deep into Her eyes and let Her look into yours."

Devotional items:
Whether you prefer handsome wooden crucifixes or a striking marble imitation of Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom, or even a mother-of-pearl rosary, ANF offers these and many other items in its product line.

Mary in Every Home:
Over 10,000 homes in nearly every state (except Alaska!) have been visited with replicas of the famous Pilgrim Virgin Statue. Fatima custodians crisscross the country promoting these home-enthronement programs. The program includes the crowning of the statue, a short audio-visual about Fatima and a rosary. Urging America to Resist Homosexual 'Marriage'

If the family sinks, so will America.

Can you recall a time when traditional marriage was in greater peril?

You see – against the will of 61% of the state’s voters – California’s Supreme Court ruled in favor of homosexual “marriage” on May 15. Traditional marriage was dealt another blow when New York Governor David Patterson ordered legal recognition for same-sex “marriages” contracted out of state.

Marriage is being redefined, turned inside out by the homosexual movement.

You and I must rally in defense of the family. What can we do?

I have a good answer: The American TFP just published two-page ads in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and The Washington Times. The title is: Battling for America’s Soul: How Homosexual “Marriage” Threatens Our Nation and Faith—the TFP Urges Lawful and Conscientious Resistance.

The statement is hard-hitting. Insightful. Informative. When you read it, you will find the wisdom of the Catholic Church, effective answers, and a plan of action.

Read it. Study it. And spread it far and wide.

There is a battle going on for America’s soul. You and I must defend the truth, the family and the law of God.

If you have any comments to share with me on this vital topic, please do. You can reach me at studentaction@tfp.org.

With best regards and prayers for you and your family,

John Ritchie

TFP Student Action Director

Will Pope rein in dissident Catholic universities that allow pro-homosexual clubs

Here is another reason to pray and affirm traditional moral values.

Read the full study here and view listing of 96 "Catholic" institutions which allow the homosexual movement to undermine Catholic moral teaching by setting up camp with pro-homosexual clubs and activities.

There's talk that Pope Benedict XVI will address this crisis in Catholic higher education when he meets with the presidents of Catholic universities at the Catholic University of America later this month. The time is ripe. But will Catholic university administrators place fidelity to the Magisterium over the politically correct "dogmas" of our neo-pagan society?

Notre Dame University Ignores Bishop, hosts 'Monologues'

Controlling free speech, university official expels TFP volunteer for sharing bishop’s statement on campus

Once again, controversy is dividing the University of Notre Dame.

Catholics everywhere applauded Bishop John D’Arcy’s recent condemnation of the crude “V-Monologues” at Notre Dame, hoping it would convince university officials to ban the feminist play. After all, the production betrays Notre Dame’s Catholic identity, tramples upon the Sixth Commandment, exalts sin, promotes lesbianism, and gives scandal.

Catholics recite the holy Rosary at the gates of Notre Dame for the restoration of true Catholic education.

America Needs Fatima publishes new book

Fatima: A Message More Urgent Than Ever is the title of a new book just published by America Needs Fatima, a campaign of the American TFP. I just got my hands on a copy and look forward to reading it.

Given the tremendous chaos in our confused world, I believe the Fatima message continues to be most relevant, for it contains a solution for our times, and a promise of God's final victory over evil.

Prayer for Cuba's Victims of Communism at Memorial

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, many Americans seem to have forgotten that just 90 miles south of Florida is a communist gulag that continues to persecute its people. Every year thousands of Cubans brave the open sea on makeshift rafts trying to make it to Florida, risking their lives rather than remain in the “workers paradise.” Most of them either drown or, due to a change in policy under the Clinton administration, are picked up by the Coast Guard and promptly sent back. For many Cubans, the memory of 7-year-old Elian Gonzalez’s miraculous rescue and traumatic return to Cuba in 2000 is still fresh.

“Absolutely NO” to Jerry Springer Show

Despite rainy weather conditions, hundreds of outraged Catholics gathered in front of Carnegie Hall in Manhattan to pray and express their rejection over the blasphemous Jerry Springer: The Opera in Comedy. The peaceful protest was a response to the indecent show which attacks the honor and purity of Our Lord and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I had the distinct honor of being present at the act of reparation. We prayed the Rosary, sung hymns, and hopefully "knocked" some sense into Carnegie Hall.
