Your survey responses were formed into this awesome report…

After the the success of the 2010 Rosary Rallies, we sent a survey to Our Lady’s 6,000 rally captains to gather feedbacks and repercussions on how to better prepare for next year’s rallies.

It would be impossible to record all responses here so a few excerpts suffice to reveal a cross-section of the respondents’ attitude and feelings about the importance and relevance of the rallies. There were several reasons given why captains opted to participate and many were strikingly similar.

Devotion to Our Lady

An overwhelming majority of captains cite devotion to the Rosary and the Blessed Mother especially under the invocation of Our Lady of Fatima as the motivating factor behind their efforts to organize the rally.

“I did it as a gift to Our Lady for her birthday.”

“It's a privilege to honor our Mother,”

“Our Catholic identity is at an all time low here in the US. Few young people are known to say the Rosary, or have any kind of devotion to Our Lady. She is a powerful advocate and we need to give her the honor due her.”

“I believe in praying the Rosary together and to persuade as many as possible to pray the Rosary together. I believe it's the only way we'll have peace, freedom and God's blessing.”

“When I received the email invitation, I thought: My Blessed Mother has always been there for me and my family. I need to show my love for her publicly, AND more importantly, we need her continued love, support, and intercessions.”

“I feel great love, loyalty, confidence, and trust in our Blessed Mother. I owe her that much and more for her intercession throughout my life. I want to spread the praying of the Rosary.”

The sense of being called

“I felt that Our Lady called me!”

“The Blessed Mother asks for Rally Captains and I could not refuse her.”

“To honor Our Lady who I feel was calling me to do it. Thank you for spearheading this whole project.”

“I think the Holy Spirit helped me decide to do Rosary Rally. Before, I tried to ignore your letters and emails asking to be a Rally Captain. Then it always comes back into mind about doing a Rosary Rally until I finally decided to do it for the sake of our Blessed Mother.”

“Never heard of the public square rosary before and as I clicked on to the form for rally captain, I suddenly found myself filling out the form. I think Mary just called me to do it. I was happy with the response I got and would do it again next year.”

“I felt our Mother's call when I read about it.”

“Felt a strong desire to lead a rosary in the public square.”

“I kept trying to ignore e-mails but, I felt our Blessed Mother was really persistent in wanting me to do this, so I did and was very glad.”

“I felt called to do this. I had not even noticed the materials you sent in previous years but this year, the compulsion to do this was impossible to ignore.”

Hesitant at first

Some were timid and wavering but…,

“When you are called by our Lord and his Mother all you can do is respond, or ignore the call. I'm not able to say no to our Heavenly Mother.”

“I felt I was being called by Our Blessed Mother. I could not refuse her although I was, as I used to in the past 3 years, always hesitant and afraid.”

“I believe it is needed now and because you asked me and I really wanted to do it. I was kind of scared at first but after talking to some people I realized it was what God wanted me to do.”

The Need for Public Prayer

Many feel that Catholics need to show their Faith and praying in public makes this more evident. One respondent wrote that rosary rallies, “publicly help others see that faith and prayer matter.”

“I saw your email and it rang a bell in my heart and I immediately felt called to participate. It is and will be again, a fine idea, to put prayer into the public square, and call prayer to the attention of those passing by.”

“I really do believe that America needs Fatima now, as the country turns its back on God more and more. I believe that we can make a difference as the Blessed Mother hears and answers our prayers, especially in public.”

“A simple way to encourage our Catholic community to express their faith in a public way.”

Our Country Need Prayers, Too

A good number also cited the need to pray for the conversion of America.

“I think the idea of many public rosary rallies at the same time all over the U.S. makes a statement that praying the Rosary for our country is important.”

“I'm concerned that our country is drifting away from God.”

“Our nation needs to change the path it is currently on. We need to turn back to our Lord and repent of the many sins of our nation (i.e. abortion, homosexuality). The rosary rally brings a greater awareness to the community in which we live.

“Spread the devotion of to our holy Mother and ask for Her intercession to save the nation.”

Willingness to participate

“Because our country needs it [the rosary rally] so much, and if not me, then who? I need to be willing before I can expect anyone else to be willing.”

“It was a personal commitment to Our Lord and Our Lady to do whatever I can to bring honor and praise to them.”

“I received an email, and it just seemed like the right thing to do.”

“It was an offer from America needs Fatima which I willingly accepted. I have a great devotion to Blessed Lady.”

“In 2007 it seemed like the thing to do, and I still believe that.”

Concerns over the sad state of affairs of our nation and the world

It is quite palpable that many captains perceive the uncertainty of our times and the impending chaos that will ensue if men do not make an effort to amend their lives.

“I have looked at the world and Our Lady's words at Fatima and know that I can not sit by the side line any longer.”

“Too much violence is happening here in the border towns. We live in a city that needs to see what our religion is doing for our community and the whole world. We are all living a life that is not acceptable by our Mother Mary.”

“For a very long time, I have felt that the world seemed to be spiraling to hell.”

“We are passing thru difficult times in our country because people has forgotten God and we need to spread the rosary.”

Grace and inspiration to act

“I think the Holy Spirit helped me decide to do Rosary Rally. Before, I tried to ignore your letters and emails asking to be a Rally Captain. Then it always comes back into mind about doing a Rosary Rally until I finally decided to do it for the sake of our Blessed Mother.”

“Never heard of the public square rosary before and as I clicked on to the form for rally captain, I suddenly found myself filling out the form. I think Mary just called me to do it. I was happy with the response I got and would do it again next year.”

“I received your invitation at a time when I was asking myself if I was investing my time wisely for the Lord....and that maybe I could do more. I never attempted anything like this before, I am not a leader, but you make it so simple.”

“I was asked by another rally captain to do it but was unsure. I prayed about it and made the decision to do it. It was a blessing I am glad I did do it. We surely felt the presence of the Holy Spirit.”

“I felt it was the right thing to do...cannot explain it, but everything fell in place.”

Reparation and conversion

“To offer reparation and to pray for conversions.”

“For conversion of so many church going but nominal Catholics, who are not catechized on church teachings, even on the Holy Eucharist itself.”

“The need of reparation to our God Who is so grievously offended by the sins of man.”

“I decided that it was time to publicly declare my support for Our Lady and to make reparation for the many ways that she and her Son are blasphemed and offended every day.”

Monthly rosary rally yesterday at Tropical Park in Miami

See pictures from our monthly rosary rally yesterday at Tropical Park in Miami at:

http://americaneedsfatima.blogspot.com/2010/11/monthly-rosary-rally-yesterday-at.html

From the dozens who attended, half had been Rosary Captains in Miami in the Rosary Crusade last Oct. 16.

The mother of one of the Captains who was sitting next to Our Lady’s statue is 92 years old. She has not missed a Rosary Rally in the last two years.

Mr. & Mrs. Hughes came from Coral Springs, which is one hour away. They have organized the Rosary Rallies in that city for the last 4 years.

This year, they had one of the largest rallies with over 115 people attending. They invited us to a delicious lunch at Rinconsito Restaurant after yesterday’s rally and there we discussed and planned for future activities for America Needs Fatima.

It was a very blessed day and the Rosary Rally was full of graces in the Public Park of Miami.

Monthly Rosary Rally in Ohio Continues

I'm sorry that I'm so late in sending this picture of the Rosary Rally last Saturday.

It was a beautiful day and there was a lot of enthusiasm in the group who came to join us in prayer. Also, there were many positive waves and honks from the cars at this busy intersection. Our Lady seems to be sending us many graces to continue this monthly effort.

We thank her for all that she gives us.

In the hearts of Jesu et Maria,

Mrs. Henderson

Rosary Rally in Falls Church

Rosary Rally put on by members of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Falls Church, Virginia. About 60 people gathered to say the rosary at noon. Here is a picture taken during the rally.

God bless!

Monthly Rosary rallies in several cities – one terrible accident!

There were two monthly Rosary Rallies that took place in Harrisburg, PA, on Saturday, Nov. 14.

Other monthly Rosary Rallies took place in Miami, FL, and in Kansas City.

After the rally in Kansas City, a family of veteran ANF supporters were hit by a city bus. Their car was damaged, but they were safe, except for one person with a
bump on the head.

See more details here:

Please join me in thanking Our Lady for this protection! How good is Our Mother!

Like the proverbial mustard seed, the 2,000 Rosary rallies in 2007 grew to 5,963 in 2010

Not content with praying in private, a growing number of brave Catholics are committed to proclaiming the Fatima message and their Catholic Faith in the streets and public venues throughout America.

Register in advance for the 2011 Rosary Rallies!

On Saturday, October 16, 2010, America Needs Fatima's (ANF) successfully carried out nearly 6,000 Rosary rallies all over America including far-off Alaska, Hawaii and Guam.

Thanks to the zealous efforts of Rosary captains around the nation, thousands of faithful Catholics armed with their rosaries and banners trooped to the public square to pray for America's conversion and heed the message of Our Lady of Fatima.

The response to America Needs Fatima's 2010 campaign is nothing short of outstanding!

Not only did America Needs Fatima successfully reach this year's goal of 5,000 rallies, it far exceeded expectations and almost hit the 6000 mark (5, 963 to be exact.) topping last year's 4, 337 rallies. Once again, throngs of Catholic faithful proudly displayed their Faith on their chests as they publicly recited the Rosary for all to see.
Initial reports and reactions

In Buffalo, NY, about 40 sisters gathered on a sunny Saturday afternoon outside the Felician Motherhouse on Doat Street to pray for the nation's leaders as they tackle the myriad dilemmas facing the country. Sister Henriella Kakol explains, "America needs Fatima to make atonement and reparation. We come to pray the Rosary, to heed Mary's call, to give praise to God for all those that don't, and seek his pardon and our conversion." 1

The Rev. James Grady, pastor of St. Landry Catholic Church, led about 90 of the faithful Saturday in reciting the Rosary at noon on the St. Landry Parish Courthouse Square in Opelousas, LA. First-time rally attendee, Virval Bradley, comments, "I just felt a calling to be here. I belong to a Rosary group and my entire Rosary group is here. I just felt like I needed to be here." 2

In Leesburg, VA, Rosary captains Stan and Mary Theriault organized an impressive gathering of 300-400 people at the Loudon Country Courthouse grounds. Local police helped coordinate the event by rerouting traffic and blocking off certain areas of downtown Leesburg. After Mass at the local Catholic Church, participants walked much like in a procession to the rally grounds. The event was capped by an offering of 200 roses at the feet of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima brought to the venue by ANF members.

Coral Gables, FL local ANF supporter Sergio de Paz reports, "For the last four years, Our Lady has been blessing Miami with an increase in Public Rosary Rallies as well as a much greater number of participants, with greater exposure… Exuberant young parents with their children, prayed for America and the future of their children. Our Lady could not have picked a better group, they all went home full of graces and hope."

Fond Du Lac, WI's first Our Lady of Fatima Public Square Rosary Rally drew a crowd of about 100 participants. They offered their prayers "to beg God to save America from today's immorality and secularism," as

handouts state. "It's public reparation for the sins of the world," said Julie Petersen, Fond du Lac's Rosary Rally Captain. 3
Spurring and inspiring others to act

In an increasingly secularized atmosphere that pushes religious expression out of the public square, one could only imagine the effects these Rosary rallies have on the average passerby or onlooker and even the participants themselves. More importantly, one can never underestimate the inner workings of grace engendered by these acts.

A moving example is that of one woman (Kathy Worboys of Honeoye Falls, NY) who chanced upon a magazine article in her parish church regarding public Rosary rallies, a subject that's quite new to her. Looking more closely at the article the following week, she noticed a picture of a banner accompanying the article that said, "As human efforts fail to solve America's key problems, we turn to God, through His Holy Mother, asking His urgent help." Those words captivated and inspired her. She resolved to become a Rosary captain and organize a Rosary rally herself. 4

A case of a collapsed disc caused by a speed bump didn't slow down or dampen the spirit of one ANF volunteer (Mary Ellen Piel of Kansas). In spite of the mishap, she successfully recruited a friend to become a Rosary captain while talking over the phone in her hospital bed!

And talk about determination. A daughter's due date (which would be on October 16, 2010) of one new Rosary captain didn't faze his resolve to proceed with the rally. He plans to hold the rally at the hospital instead should that happen.

Touching God to act through prayer

St Alphonsus once said, "I never feel more confident of my salvation than when I pray." If this is true on the individual level, how much more effective would it be on a collective level? Isn't it true that we gain more indulgences when we pray the Rosary in a family group or a religious community?

Behold America's ills are before us: abortion, drug abuse, divorce and the breakdown of the family, pornography, blasphemies, increased crime, etc. Now the homosexual agenda pull all the stops to promote and legalize homosexual marriage! Where will this continuing moral decline lead America?

Aren't these enough reasons for Americans to elevate their voices in unison to the Throne of God so that more souls would convert and amend their lives?

Now more than ever, we need a Public Rosary Crusade to move God to save our nation!

The Rosary is the great weapon of the Twenty-First Century as in centuries past

There are many benefits that could be gained by praying the Rosary and these are amply covered and expounded in many pious books. But much closer to home, Sister Lucy had this to say in a 1957 interview she gave to Father Augustín Fuentes, postulator of the cause of beatification for the seers of Fatima, Francisco and Jacinta at that time. She said, "The last means that God will give to the world for its salvation are the Holy Rosary and My Immaculate Heart… Father, with the new efficacy Our Lady has given to the Rosary, there is no problem in the life of anyone which cannot be solved by frequently praying the Rosary." 5

Support from the hierarchy

Since their inception, these rallies have found support from both bishops and clergy alike.

This year, Guam's archbishop Anthony Sablan Apuron, added his stamp of approval as he addressed his pastors and rectors in a letter of Wednesday, October 6.

"In solidarity with AMERICA NEEDS FATIMA, I request that on Saturday, October 16, 2010 … the Rosary be prayed at 12 noon in your parish." Archbishop Anthony explained that AMERICA NEEDS FATIMA's goal is to "win the heart and soul of America for Mary by spreading Our Lady's Fatima message and promoting devotion to Her Immaculate Heart."

Monthly Rosary Rallies – the next step?

After the 2010 Public Square Rosary Crusade on Saturday, some captains have decided that the rallies need to be done more frequently. One example is Rally Captain, Barbara Renner from Littlestown, PA. She had a small rally on the 16th, but has already planned another for November 13th.

America Needs Fatima hopes and prays that all those captains who are inspired by Our Lady to do monthly rallies, will actually be able to carry out this important work, so more acts of public reparation and prayer

could be offered to God in face of an ever increasing sinful and pagan culture corroding today's society.

It is to heed and console Our Lady who told Sister Lucia at Fatima on the apparition of October 13, 1917 that, "'Let them offend Our Lord no more, for He is already much offended."

2011 Public Square Rosary Crusade

Some are already asking about the 2011 Public Square Rosary Crusade on Saturday.

Yes, by the grace and guidance of Our Lady, we will hold next year's Rosary crusade on Saturday, October 15, at noon local time. Our goal is 7,000 rallies, 1,037 more than this year.

Is this too big of a step forward?

Perhaps. But we do not hope in our own abilities to reach the goal of 7,000 rallies. We only look to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, for inspiration, courage and dedication to accomplish this lofty mission. She has brought us all this way. She will bring us to the successful accomplishment of the 2011 Rosary Crusade.

Ed Graveline, Rally Captain from Las Vegas, said it so well:

"All in all, it was a wonderful day to pray a public Rosary, so that all will know that it will be through the Immaculate Heart of Mary that the victory will come."

That is similar to the message that Our Lady gave the world on September 13, 1917, when She said:

"In October, I will perform a miracle so that all may believe."

And you can be part of that host of Rally Captains who echo faith in the Fatima message, so that America and the world will indeed be able to see and believe in the saving message of Our Lady. While there is still time!

You can already sign up to be a Rally Captain in 2011 by filling out the advance registration form on the website of America Needs Fatima at:

Rosary Rallies in Canada, and Saginaw, MI

A report from the Saginaw, MI, Rosary Rally:

http://www.catholicweekly.org/k-of-c-rosary-rally-attracts-more-than-100/

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

From Rally Captain George Fox, London, Ontario, Canada:

While the numbers (225) were a little lower than anticipated, our Rally was most successful, and we're looking forward to another one next year, with hopefully the same sort of beautiful Autumn weather that we had on the 16th.

RosaryRally201042

A major blessing this year was the appearance of our retired Bishop Sherlock, who will appear next year and help us pray his version of the scriptural Rosary.

We are rotating through the mysteries, and the Sorrowful Mysteries are due next year. We had a couple of student singers, an excellent sound crew - needed for the large space we had booked in Victoria Park in London, Ontario and well organized 'stage crew'.

Next year, we will add the "Consecration to Jesus through Mary", and while we only spoke of it this year, next year we will make available copies of the Communion of reparation on the first Saturday's to encourage this devotion.

Given the presence of a bishop (the older priest in the picture), we should have no problem getting the full support of our bishop next year with a resulting increase in attendance. The younger priest was our lead priest, and there were some three priests from the local seminary and two other priests in attendance.

In a town outside of London, we had the Legion of Mary initiate the Public Square Rosary Rally with the full support of their parish priest, with 38 in attendance.

We thank you for your support over the year in preparation for the event - all of us are most appreciative. I mentioned your numbers, and I think we can see the PSRR gatherings increasing next year, building ultimately to that big day - the 100th anniversary of the Miracle of Fatima in 2017.

Blessings,

George Fox

PS. We do need to get better banner supports for next year! The third picture shows our readers praying the Rosary - the bishop is seated, and we had a small, but beautiful statue of Our Lady of Fatima.
